Illuminations

Photograms record impressions of materials placed on photosensistive paper. Using organic materials gathered from the beach, the forest and the street, I record the traces and shadows made by seaweed, tree branches and debris on sheet film. This work is records the intensity of these marks and the unexpected results caused by atmospheric conditions. These handmade negatives are digitized and transformed into an illumination of their original organic form. My Lumen Prints were showcased with other award winning Emily Carr University graduates at Winsor Gallery, Vancouver in 2010 and are in public and private collections.
