Unique patterns of clustered human settlement are found in villages expressed in vernacular architecture and creative occupation of the landscape, adapted to the community and local needs. This gallery is an ongoing exploration of the unique characteristics of villages where ever they are found even hidden in urban settings. Places where uniformity gives way to a unique lifestyle that has been sustained over years and is outside the frenetic pace of renewal and erasure that plagues more densely populated places. These are places of belonging, toil and creativity, even if you have not lived there-there is a sense of belonging that I feel, that triggers the creation of these images.
