Reykjanes

Walking on the black lava flows and seeing the moss and lichen beginning to build soil and the sulfuric thermal areas that transform rock. At every turn, the process of land being brought to life where once there was a sea caused me to rethink my notions of land. Exploring the Reyjane peninsula, I could see bright colour areas in the green and black hillsides, where geothermal liquids breach the surface with sulfuric liquids that turn rock into multicoloured soils. The series is about attempting to convey the beauty of these life-giving forces and the surrounding homes.
