Doors, Windows and Gates
Doors, windows and gates are paradoxical portals that draw boundaries and define our spatial relationships to the world we travel through and inhabit. Walls especially have a historical importance, militarily, communally and culturally; and on them are found stories, editorials and artwork. They send a message about who we are and how we relate to the world around us. In some situations, they are methods of creating safety in others means of separation or simply clear statements of status.
No matter what they tell a story about their owners, their neighbourhoods and these that are not welcome.
