Hybrid Lumen Prints

This series of hybrid digital prints are made from handmade negatives using a lumen print process. These negatives are made by a contact printing process that leaves traces and shadows on sheet film. Plant enzymes and atmospheric conditions also interact with the surface to produce unexpected results on the surface of the paper or sheet film, leaving x-ray like marks of both their shapes and interiors.These digitized negatives reveal recognizable elements of the seashore as well as delightful serendipitous visual elements that add to the emerging content of my compositions.
